The Role:
We are seeking a HC Delivery Driver to join our Lindsay Rural branch in Brandon for local delivery work, on a casual basis.
This is a physically demanding position as you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading & transportation of customer goods and merchandise to and from customer properties.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Deliver and unload merchandise to rural worksites.
* Assist in loading/unloading and load restraint as required to prevent freight movement and allow for safe transport
* Maintain logs of deliveries, obtaining signatures for deliveries made
* Communicate with warehouse or pickup point for any special instructions
* Interacting with customers in a professional manner, representing the company.
* In-store counter sales as required.
What You’ll Bring:
* A current HC Licence as a minimum / MC preferred
* A current forklift licence is highly regarded but not essential
* Previous experience as a delivery driver ideally in a retail environment
* Always have a safety focus to ensure your safety, your colleagues and customers & public, along with an ongoing commitment to safe driving practices.
* Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently
* Be well presented, professional and reliable.
To be successful for this role applicants must:
* Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test
* Provide a current traffic history report
* Have the capability to meet the physical demands of the position - this includes getting in and out of the truck throughout the day; repetitive bending & lifting of rural merchandise when loading & unloading at the branch and on farm.
