New England Biolabs is a leading biotechnology company that specializes in developing and commercializing innovative tools for the research community. We are currently seeking an experienced paralegal to join our Legal Department, focusing on preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, as well as supporting corporate compliance and international business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Draft, negotiate, and administer various legal agreements, including confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, and other commercial agreements.
2. Evaluate, manage, and monitor contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
3. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, in-house attorneys, customers, distributors, and vendors to negotiate contracts and memorialize business objectives.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. Minimum 7 years' experience or equivalent knowledge or work experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and contracts management.
3. Paralegal or Contracts Specialist experience. Senior Contracts Specialist experience preferred.
4. Ability to understand the scope and terms of contracts and implications of contractual terms and conditions on the company's bottom line.
5. Creative problem-solving and experience with process improvement highly encouraged.
6. Competence in corporate compliance functions.
7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required.
