Job Overview

The role of HR Operations Specialist involves overseeing all aspects of human resources operations, ensuring seamless day-to-day management of employees and compliance with relevant employment laws.

Main Responsibilities

* Oversight of end-to-end HR functions including employee onboarding, offboarding, performance management and reporting.
* Ensure adherence to Australian employment laws and company policies across various departments.
* Maintenance of up-to-date knowledge on employment legislation for ongoing compliance purposes.
* Timely and accurate payroll processing for approximately 200 employees at multiple sites.
* Liaising with external payroll providers for correct processing, including statutory deductions and reporting.
* Administering employee benefits programs and managing vendor relationships as required.
* Workers' compensation processes including claims lodgement, insurer liaison and return-to-work planning while adhering to state-based requirements.
* Compliance with superannuation, taxation and reporting obligations.
* Support in recruitment process including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination and reference checks.
* Conduct initial interviews to assess candidate suitability based on role requirements and cultural fit.
* Assistance to hiring managers during the recruitment process, ensuring alignment with workforce planning and compliance demands.
* Onboarding and offboarding processes facilitation including employment contracts, pre-employment checks, orientation sessions and exit interviews.
* Performance appraisal support and assistance to managers with performance-related matters.
* Maintenance of accurate employee records within HRIS and data integrity assurance.
* Generation of HR reports and data analysis support for compliance and strategic HR planning purposes.
* Serving as a point of contact for employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures and workplace matters.
* Guidance provision to ensure fair and compliant resolution of employee issues.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in HR with a strong focus on operations and compliance.
* In-depth knowledge of Australian employment laws and Fair Work regulations.
* Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll management preferably in conjunction with an external provider.
* Experience in workers' compensation and return-to-work coordination.
* High proficiency in payroll processes, reporting and compliance.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, data analysis).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engagement with stakeholders at all levels.
* Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in HR and payroll operations.
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
