Project Manager for Sustainable Developments
This role is pivotal in shaping nature-based tourism destinations and city-shaping initiatives that reflect sustainability goals, community values, and long-term vision.
The Senior Manager will develop and apply comprehensive visioning tools to inform and inspire engagement across community, stakeholder, and market audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee, lead, and coordinate the end-to-end delivery of a precinct-level vision, ensuring alignment with sustainability objectives, strategic direction, emerging market trends, and community expectations.
* Identify and evaluate commercial and market-led opportunities that enhance the precinct's appeal as a nature-based tourism destination.
* Support the development and management of strategic partnerships and relationships with government, industry, investors, and the broader community to foster innovation and investment in sustainable tourism.
* Lead inclusive engagement with Traditional Owners, community groups, government agencies, tourism operators, environmental experts, industry stakeholders, and the general public to ensure culturally respectful and environmentally responsible development.
* Develop and manage a multi-phase program delivery roadmap, including feasibility studies, environmental and cultural heritage assessments, design, procurement, and construction, with a focus on sustainable tourism infrastructure.
Mandatory Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Project or Program Management, Urban or Regional Planning, Environmental Science or Sustainability, Architecture or Urban Design.
* Project Management Certification, such as PRINCE2 or PMP (Project Management Professional).
A minimum of 5 years' experience in large scale Program or Project Management leadership role, with relevant professional qualifications and a track record of delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects.
Strong leadership and team management skills that foster a collaborative, innovative, and values-driven culture.
Proven experience in developing and delivering projects in partnership with government, private sector, and community stakeholders, including through public-private partnerships.
Demonstrated ability to research and develop innovative solutions to environmental and sustainability challenges with an understanding of market trends, investment drivers, and commercial considerations relevant to sustainable development, eco-tourism, and place-based planning.
Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and vision development, particularly in the context of environmentally and culturally sensitive projects.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strategic partnerships across government, industry, community, and tourism sectors.
Proven capability to integrate tourism, cultural, and environmental considerations into project planning and delivery, ensuring outcomes that are financially viable, socially inclusive, and ecologically responsible.
A strong track record of translating visionary concepts into delivered projects, including nature-based tourism destinations, public realm enhancements, and legacy infrastructure.
Experience in developing and applying comprehensive visioning tools that synthesise cultural, environmental, eco-tourism, and design elements to inform and inspire community, stakeholder, and market engagement.
