Mackay Regional Council is seeking a capable and motivated Facilities Access Control Officer to join our Facilities and Open Spaces team, based at the Paget Depot. This position is permanent full-time with a 9-day fortnight roster.
About The Opportunity
In this role, you will be responsible for administering Council's building access and alarm systems, ensuring access is issued appropriately, risks are identified and managed, and records are accurate and audit-ready. You will work closely with internal teams, security providers, and service contractors to resolve access issues, investigate alarms, analyse system data, and contribute to continuous improvement in Council's security and facilities operations.
About You
You are a practical, analytical, and solution-driven professional with experience in facilities operations, access control, or a related industry. You are comfortable working with multiple systems and stakeholders and take a proactive approach to identifying issues and improving processes.
You Bring
* Sound experience analysing alarms, access data, or system performance
* Practical experience working with contractors and service providers
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
* Well-developed computer skills and confidence using corporate systems and Microsoft Office
* Excellent time-management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
* Qualifications in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field (Cert III preferred), or equivalent practical experience
* Experience in access control, security systems, facilities operations, or a similar environment
* Experience working with contractors or service providers
* Current QLD "C" Class Driver Licence (or ability to transfer)
