About the Role
This position is responsible for leading the delivery and implementation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and approvals required to develop the Perth Airport Estate in accordance with the Perth Airport Master Plan.
Key responsibilities include:
* Scoping, consultation, and development of approvals documentation in accordance with the requirements of the Airport Act 1996, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 and other applicable legislation.
* Identifying the need for, and quantifying which approvals are required to enable development activities on the Perth Airport Estate.
* Accountable for timely delivery of approvals documentation, including management plans, to support development projects on the estate.
* Undertaking EIA to determine regulatory approvals requirements and mitigation and management strategies required.
* Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards with respect to the company's land use planning and Environment obligations.
* Leading socio-economic assessments and environmental impact assessments to inform development of MDP and other approvals documentation.
Requirements
This role requires a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science, Ecology or Biological Science preferred) or equivalent.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Demonstrated experience working with and across multiple disciplines and managing stakeholders.
* Experience in delivering Commonwealth approvals, environmental impact assessments, management plans and compliance reports.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, and proven reporting skills.
* Currency in knowledge and application of State and Federal Environmental legislation.
* Experience in managing the approvals and post approval process for Infrastructure projects.
* Working knowledge of, and experience in Local and State Government Planning legislation and processes.
* Experience working within an airport environment is preferred.
