Role Overview
The Field Service Technician plays a key role in supporting Visy Technology Systems' automation, coding, and machinery solutions. This hands‐on service role is responsible for installation, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of equipment including coders, vision systems, conveyors, sensors, controllers, and automation components. This role focuses on field service delivery, customer support, and equipment reliability across manufacturing environments.

What You Will Do
* Install, commission, service, and troubleshoot VTS machinery and automation systems
* Perform electrical service tasks including low‐voltage wiring (24 VDC), PLC/mini‐PLC terminations, VFD setup, and industrial sensors
* Carry out routine and breakdown service work across customer sites
* Provide technical support, training, and advice to customers
* Prepare accurate service reports and maintain documentation to OHSE standards
* Work closely with the Service Team, Technical Manager, and Project Manager for scheduling and technical escalations
* Support occasional equipment preparation and pre‐delivery setup at the workshop (excluding fabrication tasks)
What You Will Bring
* Electrical Trade Licence (A‐Grade or Restricted) OR a recognised qualification in Mechatronics (Cert‐IV, Diploma or Bachelors in Mechatronics)
* Experience in machinery, automation, packaging, manufacturing, or industrial service environments
* Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
* Hands‐on experience with sensors, encoders, controllers, VFDs, PLC/mini‐PLC wiring, and industrial low‐voltage systems
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
* Excellent communication, professionalism, and customer‐service capability
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Experience with coding/marking equipment, vision systems, robotics, or automation
* Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment installation and alignment
