Job Overview

I-MED Radiology Network, North Tasmania, is currently seeking Clinical Assistants/Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Operators to join their busy teams at Jimmy's Complex and Devonport Clinic. The role involves performing BMD scans, assisting technologists, maintaining adequate stock levels, and sorting supplies.

Having previous experience in patient handling and communication is essential to be successful in this role.

Permanent full-time positions are available; part-time will be considered.

Responsibilities

* Perform BMD scans and assist with patient movement in the Medical Imaging service area.
* Assist with general clinic tasks and other patient services as directed by technical/medical staff.
* Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
* Maintain strong working relationships with patients, referrers, staff, and managers.

Qualifications & Training

Participants must be willing to complete a recognised BMD course in the safe use of bone mineral densitometers; the employer will reimburse course costs.

The next BMD course is scheduled for March 2026.

Suitable candidates should have:

* Relevant health-based science degree level qualification (medical science, nursing, allied health or tertiary education in science or health science-based courses).
* Professional knowledge of human anatomy.
* Interest in bone densitometry and body composition analysis.

Key accountabilities:

* Provide excellent customer service and patient care.
* Perform and assist with patient movement in the Medical Imaging service area; primarily BMD.
* Ensure Workplace Health and Safety legislation compliance.
* Maintain strong relationships with patients, referrers, staff, and managers.
