We are currently recruiting for multiple nursing opportunities in Canberra, including:
• Nurse Unit Manager – Surgical Ward
• Scrub Scout Nurses – Operating Theatre

Nurse Unit Manager – Surgical Ward
This leadership role reports directly to a highly supportive Director of Nursing and is responsible for managing the surgical ward team while ensuring excellent standards of patient care.
The position offers an excellent work life balance.
• Monday to Friday roster
• No weekends
• No public holidays
• Hospital closed over Christmas and New Year
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading and supporting the surgical ward nursing team
• Promoting patient safety and high clinical standards
• Supporting quality improvement and accreditation activities
• Mentoring and developing nursing staff and graduate nurses
• Working collaboratively with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
• Supporting patients and families throughout their surgical recovery
Scrub Scout Nurse – Operating Theatre
The theatre team performs a broad range of procedures across multiple specialties.
You will work alongside experienced surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses in a supportive environment focused on delivering excellent patient outcomes.
Surgical specialties include:
• Orthopaedics
• General Surgery
• ENT
• Plastics
• Urology
• Ophthalmology
• Gynaecology
About You
We are seeking experienced nurses who demonstrate strong clinical capability and a commitment to patient centred care.
You will bring:
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Experience in Surgical Ward leadership (NUM role) or Scrub Scout theatre nursing
• Strong understanding of patient safety and clinical governance
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Commitment to high quality patient care
Experience with quality improvement, infection control or accreditation processes will be highly regarded for the NUM role.
