Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team that monitors contractor planning, safety, quality, construction, workplace relations, testing, commissioning, and completion and turnover. You will manage key stakeholder and third‐party interfaces throughout all stages of delivery including ORAT.
Monitor contractor compliance with project policies, procedures, site rules and schedules.
The hiring process for this position involves customer approval.
Major Responsibilities:
* Manage project planning and execution for assigned scope.
* Lead a cohesive team focused on safe and timely delivery of the assigned scope.
* Prepare and consolidate Request for Tender documents.
* Participate in procurement phase including evaluations and recommendations to award.
* Manage construction and design components through to practical completion, commissioning, and ORAT support.
* Ensure safety, environmental, sustainability, quality, schedule and budget compliance.
* Ensure procedures and practices are understood and implemented.
* Manage defect period and handover of all documentation.
* Define scope, design basis, best practices, and detailed work plans, schedules, budgets; plan for cross‐functional processes.
* Monitor contractual commitments; process change orders and claims promptly; maintain change management system.
* Ensure contractor reporting requirements are met.
Leadership
* Manage work of managers or professionals.
* Make staffing decisions, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.
* Support training of new team members.
* Make decisions based on business objectives and resources.
* Responsible for a major functional program; may have no subordinate employees.
* Participate in planning and budgeting.
* Prepare or contribute to board reports.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Typically requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience.
* Demonstrated experience managing major projects in infrastructure and aviation industries.
* Knowledge of health & safety, quality, and environment legislation and best practice.
* High level of interpersonal and communication skills; proven leadership and behavioural change delivery.
* Computer literate in MS Office, database applications, and BIM environments.
* Ability to influence and engage in collaborative work with stakeholders while maintaining commercial awareness.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Experience managing major infrastructure and aviation projects.
* Knowledge of construction practices, economics, and new design methods.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; leadership and behavioural change delivery.
* Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders while maintaining commercial awareness.
* Prior delivery partner or client‐side project management experience preferred.
