About the Opportunity
The Restrictive Practices Team is responsible for the regulation of the authorisation of restrictive practices (such as seclusion, or chemical, mechanical, physical or environmental restraint) by NDIS service providers and Behaviour Support Practitioners in NSW.
In this role you will work as part of a team that provides restrictive practices authorisation advice and support to the sector. You will contribute to building the capacity of the sector and strengthening a positive authorisation culture committed to reducing and eliminating restrictive practices, human rights and promoting the safety and wellbeing of people with disability.
Responsibilities
* Prepare standard project-related documents for key stakeholders as required, including status updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers to manage the flow of information.
* Assist the project team with completing tasks and implement project plans as required to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
* Liaise and work across FACS Divisions and non-government stakeholders to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and policy implementation.
* Support the design, implementation and coordination of projects that deliver effective business unit outcomes and meet client service delivery needs.
* Manage and coordinate administrative functions for the team, including preparation of presentations, reports and other correspondence, organisation of meetings and conferences, including the preparation and dissemination of minutes and other documentation arising from related meetings and events
* Monitor incoming correspondence and enquiries including emails, prioritising and delegating issues taking appropriate action including coordinating timely responses ensuring deadlines are met and the advice is provided to the appropriate Lead/Manager on matters requiring urgent or personal attention
* Support the team to deliver tasks and activities including the planning and implementation of activities of the restrictive practices function and undertake specific research including sourcing of information, data collection and analysis and the completion of assigned tasks.
Essential Requirements
* National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
* Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
