Ophthalmic Associates is looking for an Ophthalmic technician/Medical receptionist to join our dynamic team at our Warners Bay and East Maitland clinics.
We are a very busy, high paced specialist practice that deliver the highest quality eye care to our patients. We are looking for an enthusiastic new casual team member to help provide clinical and administrative support to our team of Medical and Surgical professionals.

Here at Ophthalmic Associates, we pride ourselves on our friendly staff who provide support to our patients, their carers and other staff members whilst portraying a calm, polite, friendly, and professional manner at all times.
Although our main office is based at Warners Bay rooms, we also have an office at East Maitland and travel between the 2 will be essential. The position is a casual rolewith hours varying between 45-55 hours a fortnight with more hours becoming available for covering staff holiday leave, sick leave, maternity leave, long service leave, etc.
With dedication and reliability in this roll, a more permanent position may become available in the future.
Ophthalmic Associates has both a clinical and administrative department within the practice. In house administrative training is required later down the track for job progression and growth as you become more familiar and comfortable in your clinical role. This training opportunity will expand your skill set and provide further experience within our specialised industry.
Roles and responsibilities:
* All clinical duties including ocular screening, diagnostic testing, setting up/shutting down and assisting during minor medical procedures
* All reception and administration duties including patient bookings, patient billing and surgical paperwork.
* Provide clinical and administrative support to other staff as required.
* To fill in for other employees when required (ie. Holiday leave, sick leave, long service leave, maternity leave etc.)
* To liaise friendly and confidently with other medical practices/hospitals.
* Ability to be able to answer patient queries under supervision of the Ophthalmologist.
* Answering telephone calls with a pleasant and confident phone manner.
* Scanning, and emailing documents.
* any other duties the employer or management may assign to you from time to time, having regard to your skills, clinical/admin training and experience.

Experience working in an Ophthalmic practice or within a medical setting will be an advantage, however we will consider applications from enthusiastic people with no experience but who are excited about working in the medical industry and can impress with their keen interest and willingness to learn.
