If you are a dedicated Cook who values nutrition, quality and community, we welcome your application. Task & responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with approved menus
* Cater for allergies, dietary requirements and cultural preferences
* Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
* Order, receive and monitor food supplies and kitchen stock levels
* Ensure correct storage, rotation and handling of food products
* Work within budgeted food costs and minimise waste
* Maintain records relating to food temperatures, cleaning schedules and compliance requirements
* Assist in developing seasonal menus that promote healthy eating habits
* Communicate effectively with educators and management regarding children’s dietary needs
* Ensure all kitchen operations comply with relevant health and safety regulations Qualification & experience
* Relevant Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience
* Minimum 12 months of recent full time relevant work experience as a Cook
* Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen compliance procedures
* Experience preparing meals in a childcare, school, aged care or high volume kitchen environment is highly regarded
* Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Positive attitude and genuine interest in children’s wellbeing
