Our government client is seeking a Survey Assistant with a Survey Diploma Qualification in the Newcastle area. This is an excellent development opportunity for an accredited locator with an interest in surveying. This is a 6-month contract position with the potential to be extended further.
**Key accountabilities for this role include**:
- Assist with data collection, analysis and presentation processes to contribute to the provision of survey services.
- Undertake minor field surveys and data processing, as required, to support analysis and presentation.
- Comply with WHS and environmental policies, by undertaking and following surveying discipline procedures, to support the management and minimisation of risk.
- Maintain survey equipment and vehicles to agreed standards to support the team.
- Support innovation and best practice by providing suggestions and solutions for process improvements and by participating in the implementation of new technologies and policies.
**The essential criteria for this role includes**:
- Survey Diploma Qualification.
- Current unrestricted NSW driver's licence.
- Ability to work overtime and outside of regular working hours as required.
- Ability to travel interstate as required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of surveying and spatial data capture procedures and processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant procedures, policies, guidelines, standards and legislative requirements.
