We are partnering with a large Queensland Government digital services provider delivering high-volume, customer-facing platforms used by millions of Queenslanders. This team sits at the centre of whole-of-government digital delivery, building secure, scalable and modern cloud solutions that enable connected services across phone, chat, counter and online channels.
This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role in shaping enterprise AWS capability within a complex, high-security environment.
As the Senior Cloud AWS Engineer, you will provide advanced cloud infrastructure and DevOps expertise across a multi-account AWS environment. You will lead platform engineering initiatives, guide architectural direction, and mentor technical specialists while driving secure, cloud-native solutions at scale.
This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to present architectural options, run workshops and contribute to solution proposals.
This is an initial 6 month contract with extension options & remote work. Please note, this role closes on the 27th FEB, only candidates with full work rights based in Brisbane can be considered.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead advanced AWS Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps services within agreed service levels
* Provide technical leadership on architecture, solution design and customer proposals
* Drive platform engineering practices to support multiple product teams
* Lead onboarding of new workloads and customers into a secure AWS landing zone
* Research emerging technologies and develop cost models and solution collateral
* Mentor and guide technical specialists
* Identify risks and improvement opportunities across cloud platforms and processesSupport migration of AWS workloads between accounts
* Contribute to secure DevOps practices and continuous delivery initiatives

* EKS, ECS, EC2, Fargate, Lambda
* Event-driven and messaging services

* CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS CodeDeploy and AWS CodePipeline
* Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and TypeScript
* Secure DevOps and integrated security practices
* Platform engineering patterns and guardrails
* Migration of AWS workloads between accounts
