About The Role
We are seeking a highly capable and passionate Training Manager to join our Consumer Healthcare manufacturing site in Virginia, Queensland.
This role will lead the transformation of our operator training systems, conduct a full gap assessment and implement a high-quality, compliant training framework.
The ideal candidate will bring RTO experience, with a strong understanding of external skills recognition processes, and the ability to support operators in achieving Certificate III or IV in Manufacturing.
Main Responsibilities
Training System Assessment & RedesignConduct a comprehensive gap analysis of current operator training systems, materials, and processes.
Identify and address gaps in compliance, effectiveness, and alignment with GMP and operational goals.
Benchmark against industry best practices and regulatory standards.
Skills & Training Matrix OverhaulRedesign and implement a robust Skills Matrix and Training Matrix aligned to job roles, compliance requirements, and career pathways.
Collaborate with Production, Quality, and EHS teams to define critical skills and training needs.
RTO & External Skills RecognitionLeverage RTO experience to introduce and manage Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and external certification pathways.
Support operators in achieving Certificate III or IV in Process Manufacturing or equivalent qualifications.
Liaise with external training providers and RTOs to align internal training with accredited frameworks.
Ensure training documentation and assessments meet ASQA and GMP compliance standards.
Capability Building & FacilitationDesign and deliver engaging training programmes in Lean Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt), GMP, Standard Work and other operational excellence tools.
Facilitate workshops and practical sessions to build problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities.
Coach and mentor frontline leaders and SMEs to become effective trainers and assessors.
Continuous Improvement & ComplianceImplement competency-based training and assessment frameworks to ensure consistent performance standards.
Monitor training effectiveness and its impact on deviation reduction, quality metrics and operational performance.
Ensure all training programmes meet internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder EngagementPartner with cross-functional teams to ensure training initiatives are aligned with business priorities and workforce development goals.
Act as a change agent to foster a culture of continuous learning and capability uplift.
About You
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Engineering or related field preferred
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE***** or equivalent) – mandatory
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification is desirable
Experience & Skills
Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment – preferably in Consumer Healthcare or FMCG
Strong knowledge of GMP, TGA and ASQA compliance requirements
Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training tools
Deep understanding of adult learning principles and competency-based training
Experience working within or alongside Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), RPL processes and nationally recognised training
Strong project management and change leadership capabilities
Excellent communicator and able to build rapport quickly with various stakeholders
Energetic, self-driven and proactive in nature
