Executive Level 1 ($121,717 - $138,722)

**Employment Type**

Ongoing & Non-ongoing (for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension)

Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, this would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years.

A non-ongoing offer may result in conversion to an ongoing offer of employment, however this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.

**Who we are**

The PM&C Library is a small team of highly experienced, service-focused librarians. Each team member brings different strengths and areas of interest to their role, and the team has a reputation for going above and beyond for their clients.

**What you will do**

The PM&C Library is the 'home' of research and knowledge in the department, and is one of PM&C's greatest assets. As Library Manager, you'll lead a small team that supports PM&C and its service partners to provide robust, accurate and up-to-date advice to government.

The Library's services include:

- Managing a collection
- Reference requests
- Research, fact checks and background information
- Monitoring information services across portfolio areas and alerting staff to new publications
- Interlibrary loans
- Research training and orientation.

**What you will bring**

You will be able to lead, manage and motivate a small team to deliver a high-quality service that connects people with knowledge from a diverse range of sources. You will have excellent general knowledge of Australian society and history, and an interest in current events and policy challenges. In addition to having extensive research and reference skills, you will also have a strong track record building and maintaining excellent client relationships.

Other responsibilities include:

- Managing information management systems
- Overseeing procurement
- Working with your senior manager (EL2, Speechwriting and Library) on strategy and business-related plans.
