**Your new role**:
Reporting to the Shipyard Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of inventory management tasks to support our Maritime Sustainment programs. This includes analyzing project material requirements across multiple projects to ensure inventory holding and stock levels meet the planned schedule requirements.
More specifically, you will
- Develop decision support tools to analyse the cost/benefit trade-offs to inventory changes, make buy decisions and support the improvements in supply chain material workflows
- Assess and approve purchase requests for materials initiated by Material Planners ensuring schedule and budget meet the aggregated procurement
- Monitor, report, analyse and forecast key drivers from supply chain inventory management perspective that impacts financial reports
- Liaise with Material Planners, production and supply chain staff to resolve material holding issues and manage the consolidation process for engineering change tasking
- Responsible for the management of customer managed commonwealth assets including subcontractor repair agencies and prime contractor supplied materials
- Provide support to supply chain management as required
About you
**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:
- Demonstrated experience in in supply chain, inventory management or procurement roles in heavy industry
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain operating systems and material management
- An ability to analyse complex data and propose appropriate business solutions
- Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skill
- An ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements with strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficient user of MS Office package, especially word, excel and powerpoint
Whilst not essential, degree qualification in business, supply chain or logistics related discipline is desirable
Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
