The Role
Navy Strength Ice Co. is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations & Production Lead to oversee daily production and operational workflow across our premium ice manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with a strong production background, a mechanically minded skillset, and experience guiding small teams in a manufacturing or food production environment.
The Operations & Production Lead will oversee the day-to-day production of high-quality, hand-cut cocktail ice. Responsibilities include managing production schedules, ensuring quality control, maintaining equipment, training and supervising production staff, and managing inventory and orders. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Fawkner, VIC.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage daily ice production, including cutting, handling and packing ice
* Lead and manage ice sculpture production as required
* Lead, coordinate and develop a production team of approximately 4–5 team members
* Coordinate production scheduling and monitor output, workflow and operational KPIs
* Assist with the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of SOPs and operational procedures
* Operate, maintain and troubleshoot production equipment including Clinebells and bandsaws
* Ensure machinery is used safely, efficiently and maintained to a high standard
* Drive continuous improvement across production processes and workflow
* Conduct quality control checks to ensure all products meet Navy Strength Ice Co. specifications
* Manage stock levels, rotation, storage and preparation for delivery
* Maintain accurate production records, reporting and operational spreadsheets where required
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe production environment
* Ensure all workplace health and safety procedures are followed
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience leading teams in a production or manufacturing environment with food production for a small business highly regarded
* Strong leadership capability with experience coordinating small teams in hands-on environments
* Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence working with production machinery
* Experience operating bandsaws considered advantageous
* Background in production, manufacturing, food processing or similar environments
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet production targets
* Experience developing, documenting or improving SOPs and operational processes highly regarded
* Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including production tracking, operational reporting and inventory management
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality
* Clear communicator with the ability to lead by example and with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach
* Comfortable working within a fast-paced and evolving small business environment
