A genuinely rewarding opportunity exists within ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS), for a highly motivated individual to join Offender Reintegration, as the Assistant Director, Intensive Case Management Project (SOGC). This position will lead the development of the Intensive Case Management (ICM) program for high risk Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander detainees and offenders, and is closely supported by the Senior Director, Cultural Services. The ICM trial is a key component of a broader strategy to reduce the overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, within the ACT criminal justice system. The project will deliver targeted, high level support to identified First Nations detainees and offenders in the community, to help them navigate the justice system, with a particular focus on accessing service supports not only in the justice system, but also across the broader human services system. To be successful, you will possess exceptional interpersonal, organisational and communication skills necessary to build rapport and work collaboratively and respectfully with a diverse range of stakeholders, in addition to demonstrated experience in project management and case co-ordination. In addition, you will have highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, determine priorities and demonstrate resilience in high pressure situations and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and representative organisations. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity is considered essential and therefore confirmation of cultural identity may be requested. Experience in Corrective Services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander matters is desirable. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National police check.
