THE ROLE Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking an experiencedSenior Mine Planning Engineerto deliver optimised mine plans for our Sand King underground mine. This is a pivotal role for a results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimise underground mine plans—from stope and development layouts to mining methods and equipment selection—to maximise safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.Deliver integrated mine planning across short, medium, and long-term horizons, ensuring continuity and alignment with operational goals.Prepare underground mine development and production schedules.Coordinate mining engineering activities with production teams, surveyors, geologists, drill and blast and contractor teams.Monitor day to day mining operations to ensure compliance with agreed plans and quality control standards.Undertake ongoing update of underground Life of Mine plan.Examine mining methods and equipment to improve performance.Provide mine designs and schedules for underground capital and operating cost budgets and forecasts.Review underground mine planning cost reports and address any variances.Promote a continuous improvement approach to the conduct of all operations.Undertake any other duties as may be specified from time to time by the Mining Manager or delegate.About YouTertiary qualification in mining engineering or a related discipline.7+ years' experience in mining operations.2+ years experience in UG mine planning.Skilled in mine planning and scheduling software (Deswik).Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Strong leadership and team development capabilities.Current WA C-class driver's licence.Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.BenefitsEmployee discounts program.Site Quarterly bonus.Equity plans for all employees.Generous paid parental leave scheme.Discounted Corporate Health Insurance option.5 weeks annual leave for site-based employees.Salary sacrificing options including novated leasing and FIFO parking.Free access for you and your family to our EAP (Employee Assistance Program), a free confidential counselling and wellbeing service.Eligibility Candidates must meet our pre-employment criteria which includes a medical, drug and alcohol screening, and valid National Police Clearance.At Ora Banda is an Equal Opportunity employer committed to achieving a diverse and inclusive workforce.
