About the Role
The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and delivery of equipment and materials for science classes, primarily in Years 7-12.
* Provide support for the science programs by preparing equipment and materials for laboratory experiments.
* Assist academic staff in designing and demonstrating experiments under supervision, where some discretion and judgment are involved.
* Maintain inventory records and equipment maintenance log, ensure that equipment is prepared, set up, dismantled, and disposed of properly.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
* School Officer - Assisting Student Learning (Science Based): 10.5 hours per week
* OHS/ WHS: 3 hours per week
* Laboratory Assistant: 16.5 hours per week
Main Accountabilities:
* Ensure that all equipment and materials are prepared in readiness for science laboratory experiments.
* Support the design and demonstration of experiments, applying discretion and judgment as needed.
* Prepare, maintain, organize, set up, and dismantle equipment and materials, ensuring proper disposal of waste.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
You must also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
