Procurement Advisor role, water infrastructure projects, competitive hourly rate, 3-month contract

A leading organisation delivering large scale water infrastructure programs across South East Queensland is seeking an experienced Procurement Advisor to support a major utilities portfolio. Working within a highly regulated environment, this organisation partners closely with clients and delivery teams to deliver complex capital works programs, with a strong focus on governance, safety and commercial integrity. This role will be based in Mango Hill, offers a competitive hourly rate and flexible working arrangements.
Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Procurement Advisor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of water infrastructure projects across South East Queensland. You will support end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities across a portfolio of works, services and long lead items, contributing to target cost development and ensuring procurement outcomes align with client, legislative and organisational frameworks.
You will work closely with project managers, commercial teams and regional procurement hubs, providing trusted procurement advice and commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key duties will include:
* Supporting and delivering end-to-end procurement activities from early market engagement through to contract award
* Assisting with the development of procurement strategies and plans aligned to project and client objectives
* Preparing, reviewing and issuing RFQs and formal tender documentation
* Coordinating supplier and subcontractor engagement, including RFIs, site inspections and tender interviews
* Collaborating with stakeholders to develop evaluation criteria and weightings
* Collating, validating and evaluating commercial submissions, including cost benchmarking
* Identifying, managing and documenting procurement risks and opportunities
* Supporting and leading negotiations on pricing and subcontract terms
* Preparing procurement recommendations, briefing papers and approval documentation
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in procurement and sourcing, ideally within a utilities, water, infrastructure or construction environment. You will be comfortable working across complex project settings, managing competing priorities and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will also bring:
* Proven experience supporting or delivering end-to-end procurement activities
* Experience coordinating RFQs and formal tender processes
* Strong commercial evaluation and negotiation capability
* Confidence engaging with suppliers and subcontractors
* A strong understanding of procurement governance and compliance requirements
* The ability to work effectively in high pressure, delivery-focused environments
* Water, utilities or large scale infrastructure experience
