About The Role
This pivotal Financial Controller role leads the full financial operations of the Muirs. Reporting into a high calibre CFO, the position oversees Financial & Management Accounting, AP/AR, Credit, Treasury and Group Reporting, with direct leadership of 5 and broader influence across a team of 16. The role will also encompass commercial finance partnering.
This is a key commercial leadership role supporting the stability, growth and modernisation of the Muir, contributing to strategic decision‑making and driving continuous improvement during a period of significant expansion.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end‑to‑end financial governance, reporting and compliance across multiple entities.
* Deliver accurate, timely consolidated financial statements, board packs and management reporting.
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, long‑term planning and scenario modelling.
* Strengthen internal controls, policies and financial risk frameworks.
* Manage cash flow, treasury, working capital and banking relationships.
* Support M&A due diligence, commercial analysis and strategic initiatives.
* Partner with business leaders across Muirs' diversified footprint to enhance profitability and cost discipline.
* Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing finance team, fostering alignment with Muirs values
This role is based at Muirs newly refurbished, modern offices in Laverton
Candidate Profile :
* Experienced Financial Controller with at least 3+ years in an FC role and 10+ years in accounting/finance gained from agri, commodities, FMCG, food or wider manufacturing or retail environments
* CA/CPA qualified with strong technical experience across consolidation, financial control and ERP environments.
* Skilled in SAP, Pronto, Microsoft Dynamics and advanced Excel/data tools.
* A strong communicator capable of influencing senior leaders in a complex, multi‑entity environment.
* Proven ability to improve systems, modernise processes and lift reporting maturity.
* Brings sound judgement, commercial capability and a values‑led leadership style
