About this Role
The purpose of this position is to provide high-level support and supervision for the placement of children and young people in family-based care arrangements.
We are seeking a skilled practitioner to work in partnership with foster carers, children and young people, government agencies, and stakeholders to develop and implement individualised care plans.
This position is full-time and permanent based in Garbutt.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake child-focused casework practice (case planning and assessment) with relevant government agencies, children, families, carers, and stakeholders.
* Provide ongoing support and supervision to foster carers regarding their care of children and young people.
* Support and supervise foster carers through home visits and telephone calls.
* Assist foster carers in case planning and implementing strategies outlined in care plans.
* Provide supervision and support to direct reports.
* Ensure necessary risk assessments, cultural support plans, safety plans, and behavioural support plans are developed and implemented.
* Maintain accurate records, including inputting information into the database.
Requirements:
* A recognised degree qualification in Social Work or Psychology or related field.
* Significant experience in the child protection and out-of-home care sector.
* Demonstrated experience working with individuals, families, and communities from a strength-based, culturally appropriate perspective.
* Demonstrated experience identifying individual strengths and areas for improvement within the context of providing foster and/or host care.
* Current driver's licence.
* Successful candidates will undergo probity checks, including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
