Primary Position Objective/s:
Reporting to the HR Manager, this role is responsible for the coordination of processes associated with the rehabilitation and timely return to work of injured and/or ill employees. This includes the administration of workers compensation claims within the Cobram site, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures.
The role works collaboratively with the wider injury management team, local safety personnel, and HR to identify and implement process improvements. It also supports the delivery of education and initiatives that promote injury prevention, health, and wellbeing across the site.
Injury Management and Rehabilitation Support
* Provide prompt rehabilitation and return to work support for all work-related and non-work-related injuries
* Provide injured team members with a high level of customer service and trusted advice regarding their injury/claims
* Triaging injuries with the injured employee and first aid team to ensure appropriate medical treatment is coordinated and available
* Attend initial doctor consultations with injured workers at the local clinic
* Coordinate communication with rehabilitation providers, the insurer, and the site team
* Consult with management regarding suitable duties to match rehabilitation programs, including hours, work methods, access issues, equipment design, and programming for resumption of normal duties
* Develop and maintain return to work plans appropriate to the injured employee's capacity and available duties
* Provide RTW and rehabilitation support to the wider Injury Management team within the Southern business unit
* Develop understanding among managers of legislative obligations and the benefits of rehabilitating injured/ill employees
* Assist and coach management to build a positive rehabilitation and return to work environment that facilitates successful outcomes
Documentation and Reporting
* Coordinate completion of all necessary paperwork to assist in prompt claim lodgement and early intervention
* Maintain records in accordance with legislative requirements within the Injury Management system
* Prepare monthly reports for key stakeholders on current injuries and illnesses.
* Wellbeing and Injury Prevention Initiatives
* Identify areas for opportunity and education within the business unit to reduce injury risk and potential claims
* Contribute to the development of injury prevention and health and wellbeing initiatives that support operational needs of the Southern division
* Act as key stakeholder for site implementation of injury prevention and health and wellness strategies and campaigns at both National and local levels
* Work with the wider safety and injury management team to identify areas for improvement in injury prevention and assist with development and rollout of interventions
* Collaborate with the safety team to assist with incident investigation and reporting when required
* Provide training to local management and employees on safety and injury management topics when required

* Carry out additional duties as reasonably requested by Management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Have an Allied Health qualification - Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist, Occupational Therapist or similar is essential
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
* Possess a high level of integrity and discretion
* Have recent demonstrated experience in Injury and Workers Compensation Claims Management
* Display understanding of the relevant worker's compensation legislation and industry best practice
* Utilise their strong planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
* Have the ability to influence, engage and work collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups of internal & external stakeholders
* Experience in the Manufacturing Sector will be highly regarded
* Have a current valid Driver's License - Class C or C-A
