Opportunity

This key role covers Technical Supervision of both our Concrete and Aggregates businesses in the area. You will ensure compliance with internal and external specified and expected requirements, maximise the utilisation of internal resources at the minimum cost to the company, provide technical support and advice to the respective business and customers, and be an integral part of the production and sales processes. You will monitor concrete mix performance and quality of raw materials, liaise with laboratories to ensure correct mixes are tested and in sufficient numbers.

You will ensure adherence to and active improvement of documented quality systems and technical standards, and maintain ongoing monitoring of concrete strength, density and water demand trends with prompt reporting to Technical Managers. Detailed responsibilities are available in the position description and include the following:

* Regular contact with external customers to address their needs and concerns as required.
* Ongoing consultation with internal stakeholders to help meet the needs of the business.
* Constant monitoring of mix performance and resource utilisation at the concrete plants and quarry operations in the region.
* Providing timely and accurate technical advice to Account Managers, Production Managers & Customers on product compliance, procedures & concrete practices.
* Ensuring tender & contract technical reviews are in accordance with QMS procedures and levels of authority.
* Working with laboratories to ensure QC testing meets ITPs, AS1379 and budget targets.
* Ongoing review of aggregate and raw material performance including cement to track and adjust for any potential performance changes.
* Responsibility for concrete and quarry trial work to meet contractual needs of the business.
About You

To succeed in this key position an advantage will be a tertiary qualification or diploma in Materials Engineering, Science or related disciplines. It is desirable, but not essential, that you have previous experience in quarry or concrete technical as full training will be provided to the right candidate. Previous NATA Lab experience and experience in Microsoft Office Applications (Word and Excel), TIMS, QEST LAB, SAP, Command, WEB Chris HR21 will be favourably looked upon. Most important however is a proactive and enthusiastic attitude, and a dedication to providing the highest standards of production, quality and safety.
