About The Role
The AEMO Operations Division is responsible for ensuring continued secure efficient operation of the NEM, WEM and Gas markets while enabling the transition of the power system towards 100% renewables.
In this newly created role, you will be reporting to the leadership of the Operations Resilience team, driving operational excellence through robust policy, procedure and knowledge management and control. Interacting closely with the operational control rooms and other parts of the Operations division, you will ensure that standards are consistently applied and continuously improved. This will include supporting the implementation of common practices across operations in NEM, WEM and Gas to improve efficiency, ensure best practices and provide opportunities for our talented people to make the most difference.
This role can be based in multiple locations and is likely to have two to three direct reports over time.
What You Will Be Doing
* Map key processes and practices across NEM, WEM and gas functions and identify areas for improvement, including opportunities for alignment across systems and markets.
* Develop design principles for future state processes) including the procedure management framework.
* Develop an operations-wide implementation plan and progressively update business capability models, ensuring ownership and accountability is assigned and managed for all processes.
* Develop and champion a "lessons learnt" framework and process within Operations to drive a culture of analysis and learning from our projects, engagements, incidents and near misses.
What You Will Bring To The Role
* Tertiary qualification in business administration, organisational development, operational excellence, industrial engineering or similar capability.
* Experience in the energy industry, particularly in an operations environment is highly preferred.
* Significant proven capability in supporting highly process-driven businesses to uplift knowledge and information management, as well as simplify and automate processes.
* Proven experience in implementing a continuous improvement program.
* Change management experience will be highly regarded.
