Amity Health is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide strategic and operational leadership across the organisation, ensuring high-quality, compliant and efficient service delivery.

As part of our ambitious Strategic Plan 2026-2028, Amity Health is entering an exciting phase of transformation focused on sustainable growth, stronger partnerships and enhanced community impact. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will help lead this operational agenda, ensuring our systems, services and people are aligned to deliver on our bold future vision.

About the Role

Based in Albany, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides strategic and operational leadership to support Amity Health’s purpose of delivering high-quality, community-focused health services.

Working closely with the CEO and as a key member of the Executive Team, the COO leads day-to-day operations, strengthens systems and processes, and supports the delivery of organisational priorities that create positive outcomes for the communities we serve.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead organisational operations to ensure safe, high-quality, compliant service delivery across all programs.

Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes and workflows to strengthen efficiency and effectiveness.

Translate the Strategic Plan into clear operational priorities, KPIs and actions across service streams.

Provide timely, data-driven insights to the CEO and Board on performance, risks and improvement opportunities.

Oversee governance, risk, compliance, accreditation and quality assurance in partnership with the Manager, Governance, Risk & Compliance.

Lead audit readiness, incident responses and chair the Clinical Governance Committee with Board-level engagement.

Build strong, capable teams through workforce planning, recruitment, performance management and leadership development.

Strengthen partnerships with funders, government, community organisations and service users to maximise impact.

Partner with the CEO and CFO to oversee financial planning, budgeting and responsible resource allocation across operations.


About You

You are a purpose-driven leader with a strong background in community health, human services or the not-for-profit sector. You bring a balance of clinical expertise, operational leadership and strategic thinking, with a genuine commitment to quality, governance and positive community outcomes.

You will bring:

Relevant tertiary clinical qualifications, with additional qualifications in business or leadership.

Senior leadership experience in a health, community services or NFP environment.

Strong understanding of clinical, governance, risk, quality and compliance frameworks.

Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and driving organisational change.

Demonstrated success managing service delivery, funding contracts and stakeholder relationships.

The ability to travel as and when required.
