Workplace Health and Safety Officer – Brisbane & SEQ Regions
Overview
We are seeking a Workplace Health and Safety Officer with Road Infrastructure experience for a period of approximately 2 years, with potential extensions and additional projects. The role involves partnership with the Road Infrastructure team to deliver health and safety compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing and implementing health and safety plans
* Complete risk assessments, audits, task observations, and safety investigations
* Maintain documentation required by Federal Safety Accreditation and ISO Accreditation
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation
* Provide training and support to team members
* Manage and develop relationships with employees and stakeholders
Essential Skills and Experience
* Minimum 5 years' WH&S experience on TMR road infrastructure projects, including audits
* Strong understanding of current OH&S legislation
* Experience working on rural road construction projects
* Time management and task prioritisation capability, ability to meet deadlines and manage pressure
* Well‐developed interpersonal and conflict‐resolution skills
* Qualified in OHS
Working Hours
Proposed hours are 36‐45 per week. Longer hours and weekend work may be required to meet workload demands.
Minimum Requirements
Right to work in Australia, well‐developed interpersonal and consultative skills, and a current driver's licence.
