Assistant Category Manager
TWCM is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Assistant Category Manager to support the delivery of our merchandise strategy and help drive the performance of key categories across our network.

About the Role
As the Assistant Category Manager, you'll work closely with Category Managers and cross-functional teams to execute promotional programs, maintain accurate product data, support Private Label growth, and deliver initiatives that improve customer engagement and category performance.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to take the next step in their merchandise career.
What You'll Be Doing
Promotional & Category Execution
* Manage end-to-end promotional activities — submissions, proofing, pricing, and campaign finalisation
* Ensure catalogue and digital materials align with brand and campaign plans
* Coordinate product and pricing maintenance
* Forecast promotional inventory requirements
* Support category initiatives such as Buying Guides and seasonal programs
* Maintain supplier forms, product updates, and data accuracy
* Support Retail Media activations on the TWC Connect platform
Commercial Results
* Assist in delivering sales, GM$ and promotional income targets
* Support promotional business plan negotiations
* Conduct competitor and pricing analysis
* Track category and promotional performance and provide insights
* Build strong relationships with suppliers and TWCM stores
* Coordinate supplier co-op activities and track commitments
* Support supplier training and category initiatives
* Respond to network partner queries professionally and promptly
* Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Promotions, Retail Media, Space Planning, Data Management and Operations
* Ensure consistent messaging across marketing and promotional materials
* Prepare and coordinate store communications relating to category plans
Experience
* Strong commercial and analytical skills
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication and relationship-building capability
* High attention to detail and strong organisation skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Experience in retail, FMCG or pharmacy (preferred)
* Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, or Marketing (desirable)
