Following the internal progression of our long-standing Nurse Manager, we are seeking a passionate and experienced nursing leader to oversee our Radiation Oncology nursing services across Icon Cancer Centre Cairns and the Liz Plummer Cancer Care Centre. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, this permanent full-time leadership role offers the opportunity to shape patient care, support and develop an experienced team, and contribute to the ongoing growth of advanced cancer services across Far North Queensland.

About the Role
This is a key operational and clinical leadership role within a busy regional cancer service delivering care across both public and private settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strong clinical and operational leadership to the Radiation Oncology nursing team across both Cairns sites.
* Support the delivery of safe, high‐quality patient care with a strong focus on patient experience and clinical excellence.
* Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, rostering and ongoing staff development.
* Foster a positive and accountable team culture centred on collaboration, professionalism and continuous improvement.
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders across both Icon and CHHHS environments.
* Support quality improvement activities, accreditation standards, policy compliance and clinical governance processes.
* Contribute to service growth, operational improvement initiatives and future workforce planning.
About You
You are an experienced oncology nurse leader who leads from the front, communicates effectively, and creates an environment where teams feel supported, accountable and empowered to deliver exceptional patient care.
Skills & Experience
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Significant post‐graduate nursing experience, including demonstrated oncology experience.
* Previous leadership or management experience within a healthcare environment.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective multidisciplinary relationships.
* Demonstrated experience supporting workforce development, staff mentoring and team culture.
* Understanding of healthcare operations, accreditation standards and clinical governance processes.
* Post‐graduate qualifications in oncology, management or leadership (or working towards) highly regarded.
