Midwives in Darwin (MiD) is a private midwifery practice dedicated to providing safe, holistic and respectful care for women and families of the Top End. The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Executive Administrative Officer to provide senior-level support to the Director and play a key role in the ongoing development of our practice. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys taking initiative, and wants to contribute meaningfully to a growing private midwifery service.
About the Role
- Deliver executive-level support directly to the Director, managing diaries, meetings, correspondence, and administrative priorities.
- Responsible for bookkeeping and financial administration using Xero (essential), including billing, invoicing, and reconciling accounts.
- Assist in producing monthly reports reflecting financials, KPIs, and clinical outcomes.
- Coordinate administrative requirements of the practice, including handling confidential and private data.
- Support HR and compliance activities via Bright HR and Peninsula Work Health & Safety systems.
- Coordinate patient feedback and escalate flagged issues appropriately.
- Contribute to the growth and development of MiD’s services, supporting strategy, planning, and practice optimisation.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in executive-level support, administration, or practice management.
- Strong bookkeeping and financial administration skills; Xero experience essential. Certificate in bookkeeping desirable.
- Familiarity with healthcare or public health administration is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Initiative, high self-accountability, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
