About The Role

The People & Culture branch partners with the organisation to inspire an environment for great leadership and people capability to build on our outstanding organisation for today and the future. As the Culture, Capability and Employee Engagement Lead, you will oversee Council's organisational development and employee engagement initiatives that drive high level leadership capability, talent retention and positive culture outcomes. You will build workforce capability and readiness to support Council's role in Brisbane 2032 preparations. You will partner with Council leaders and HR Business Partners to lead workforce planning processes, providing strategic insight and advice to anticipate future capability needs, identify critical roles and skills, and support sustainable workforce, succession and talent strategies aligned to Council's Corporate Plan and evolving service delivery requirements. You will lead and drive the development, implementation and evaluation of key People and Culture projects with a focus on using evidence based decision making to foster a positive employee experience, inclusive workplace culture and contributing to the shaping of the organisation for the future and demonstrating return on investment. You will foster a workplace culture that values people, engages and empowers employees to be innovative and make decisions, maximise productivity, performance and capability, and ensure workplace behaviours are consistent with the Council's values.

About You

As a requirement of this role, you will possess formal relevant qualifications (Degree) in Organisational Psychology, Human Resource Management, Change Management, Psychology or another relevant discipline. You will have demonstrated facilitation, coaching and influencing skills with a range of stakeholders across large organisations. You bring extensive relevant experience with demonstrated team leadership skills to develop team plans, systems and projects to achieve team objectives and aspirations. You have strong experience in change management projects that ensure successful adoption through sustained behaviour change. Essential to your success you will have strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with emphasis in the areas of public speaking, consultation, building effective relationships and teams, conflict resolution and assertiveness in order to resolve issues, meet changing organisational needs and build the Branch profile.
