About the Role


We're seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Officer – Joint Management to join our growing team.

This pivotal role provides high-level support to the Joint Management Body (JMB), WYAC Board, and partner agencies such as the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA).

You'll play a vital role in coordinating meetings, reports, project milestones, and communication across conservation and cultural programs. Most importantly, you'll work directly with Wajarri Elders and community members to ensure that every decision considers cultural knowledge and connection to Country.

What You'll Do

* Coordinate JMB and Land Committee meetings, travel logistics, and documentation.
* Prepare professional reports, agendas, and minutes to support informed decision-making.
* Track project milestones, budgets, and funding compliance.
* Support governance, policy development, and monitoring of program KPIs.
* Facilitate engagement between WYAC, DBCA, and community representatives.
* Mentor junior and community staff in project practices.
* Promote a safe, respectful, and culturally inclusive workplace.

About You


You'll bring:

* Strong experience in project coordination, governance support, or program management.
* Demonstrated experience in non-profit or community organisation programs.
* Minimum 5+ years experience in a senior capacity.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare complex documentation and professional reports.
* Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Cultural sensitivity and a genuine desire to work with Aboriginal communities.
* Essential: prior experience working with Aboriginal communities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
* Knowledge of Aboriginal governance or conservation programs (desirable).
* Qualifications in Business Administration, Project Management, or Community Development are highly regarded.
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency with full working rights.
