Your new role
We have a new opportunity for a Carer Support Coordinator to join our Support For Carers Program (SCP). The program provides tailored flexible respite and support services to carers who provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend, who has a disability, mental illness, chronic condition or an older person with care needs.
As a Carer Support Coordinator you will coordinate activities to enable carers to access support, services and information. The role will coordinate capacity building and social inclusion activities to be facilitated by Peer Mentors and provide opportunities for people in care relationships to share meaningful activities together. The Carer Support Coordinator will uphold and promote human dignity, social justice and equity.

Your skills and experience
To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Diploma qualification in community services, disability or related disciplines and experience working with vulnerable people
You will also have:
* Victorian Driver's License.
* Current First Aid and CPR certificate
* Experience in providing support to carers and an understanding of support services and networks
* Ability to coordinate capacity building and social inclusion activities for people of all abilities.
* Demonstrated ability to participate in a multi-skilling learning environment and a self-managing team.
* Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to issues that arise within the community or workplace using community development principles.
