The Physical Assets Services Branch (PASB) is responsible for delivering safe, functional, and future-ready facilities and assets that support frontline policing.
Accountable to the Director, Infrastructure and Assets, the opportunity has been introduced for a Project Director, PASB, to lead the planning, delivery, and governance of SAPOL’s complex infrastructure and capital works projects, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with strategic objectives. The Project Director will provide high-level leadership to the Capital Projects Unit and Major Projects Unit while also contributing to the effective management of SAPOL’s broader physical assets portfolio.
Promoting a culture of excellence in project delivery, the Project Director will oversee the development and implementation of strategic policies, project governance frameworks, and risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with legislation, safety standards, and best practices in asset and project management. Responsible for managing a substantial capital budget, driving complex negotiations, and providing trusted, strategic advice to the Executive, the Project Director will be a persuasive and influential communicator able to engage with clarity, authority, and insight in championing PASB’s priorities, securing stakeholder confidence, and achieving outcomes that support SAPOL’s long-term operational capability.
This role demands a highly astute and influential project management professional with a proven track record in leading strategic asset and infrastructure initiatives within complex, high-stakes government environments. Demonstrated expertise in navigating the intricacies of DIT Building Projects Infrastructure Delivery and PPPs and associated contractual frameworks will be highly regarded, alongside a deep understanding of capital project delivery, governance, and compliance. The appointee will bring sharp financial and analytical acumen, coupled with exceptional leadership capability and a collaborative mindset. Your ability to foster strong, productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders will be critical to driving successful outcomes and long-term value for the organisation.
