TheRole
This is a fabulous opportunity tobring your interest in Science Education to fruition by joining abusy, dynamic, and supportive team. Reporting directly to theLaboratory Manager, you will be working closely withourfriendlyteam of Laboratory Technicians to deliverour fast-paced curriculum.
This roleis afixedterm,(all of term 2 and first two weeks of term3)during termtimeonly (37.5hoursper week)at ourWheelersHillCampus.
KeyDuties
* Prepare and manage laboratorymaterials (solutions, stains, media, etc.) while ensuring safestorage, handling, and disposal in compliance withregulations.
* Assistwithmaintaininghazardoussubstance registers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and emergencyequipment.
* Conduct riskassessments,maintainaccuraterecords, manageinventory, andassistwiththe ordering ofchemicals and equipment.
* Clean,maintainlaboratory apparatus,andorganisingthe setup of materials, rooms, anddisplays for events such as OpenDays.
* Collaborate with teaching stafftoallocatematerials,assistin classroomsetup, and support practicallessons.
* Advisestaff on thetechnical aspects of practical equipment, contribute todeveloping practical activities, andparticipateinprocess improvements andinitiatives.
* Model and live the CaulfieldGrammar School valuesandbehaviours.
Skills andExperience
* Experience working in a Schoolor AcademicLaboratoryisadvantageous
* Knowledgeofsafechemical storage and safe use of Laboratoryequipmentin accordance withcurrentregulations
* Highly competent in ICT anddatabase management
* Highlevelsoforganisationaland team collaborativeskills
* Level 1 or 2 First AidCertificate is desirable
* Hold or willing to obtain anEmployment WorkingWithChildrenCheck
