Automation Design Engineer Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Automation Design Engineer to contribute to our team's success in Hobart, Tasmania. This position involves designing and developing automation systems for various projects within the warehouse, chocolate making area, binder automation, and moulding lines.
* Provide inputs/documentation to support estimation associated with electrical engineering, preliminary/concept designs, and bill of materials
* Lead the development and review of design, technical reports, drawings, specifications, and other documentation for RFQs
* Offer technical recommendations and experience for managers and RFQ reports
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation within a production environment. They will also be able to effectively communicate their ideas and designs to other members of the team and prepare RFQ reports.
Key Qualifications
* Engineering Qualifications - An Australian recognized tertiary degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics
* Electrical Connect and Disconnect Certificate (advantageous)
* Registered Engineer or qualifications for registration required
* Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* PLC design knowledge, Allan Bradley, or Rockwell (advantageous)
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks (advantageous)
* Excellent knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, AS3000
* Strong focus on cost, schedule, and quality of project delivery for RFQ reports
* Stakeholder management and ability to influence positively in decision making
* Machine Verification and Validation advantageous
* Team player and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Professional communication skills - Written, Spoken & Documentation
* Previous experience in Project management, Process Engineering or similar experience preferred
