Our client is currently looking for an experienced Rates Officer to step up into a permanent full-time position as the Rates Coordinator. As the leader of the Rates Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient collection of the rate income, maintaining the accuracy of the council's property database, and adhering to all legislative requirements.

**Reporting to the CFO, this role involves**:
- Coordinating and managing the Rates Section efficiently.
- Handling rate issuance, rating models, and end-of-month/year processing.
- Overseeing debt recovery and legal actions.
- Managing the Emergency Service Levy and property database integrity.
- Handling land parcels and street numbering.
- Leading, supporting, and conducting performance reviews for the team.
- Reconciling financial records, responding to inquiries, and assisting with ERP system implementation.
- Performing other relevant duties.
- Experience in the Rates department of a local government.
- In-depth knowledge of local government rating procedures, regulations, and Acts interpretation.
- Experience in accounting, budgeting, rating systems, and conveyancing.
- Expertise in debt recovery and legal procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Mentorship, management skills, and team coordination abilities.
