The Role
Based in Garden Island, we are looking for an experienced Senior Security Officer to join the Regional Maintenance Provider – East (RMP‐E) Program in a critical leadership role. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact by ensuring the program meets all project, Defence and Thales security requirements, while helping maintain the smooth delivery of essential maintenance activities.
In this role, you will lead the implementation and oversight of Thales, Defence and RAN vessel‐specific security policies and procedures. You will also guide and mentor two Project Security Officers, working closely with Project Managers and the maintenance workforce to provide practical security support in a complex operational environment.
* Ensure the RMP‐E Program complies with all applicable Defence, customer and Thales security requirements, including contractual, regulatory and policy obligations
* Manage and maintain security governance across physical, personnel and information security, including security plans, risk assessments, registers and reporting
* Provide security advice and support to program and project teams to enable maintenance activities while meeting all access, clearance and site security requirements
* Oversee security administration processes, including clearances, DCAC and DPN access, visitor controls, international travel briefings and classified records management
* Support security risk mitigation through incident management, audits, training, inductions and continuous engagement with internal and external stakeholders
* Work collaboratively with Defence, trade compliance and program stakeholders to ensure security requirements are effectively implemented with minimal impact to delivery
Qualifications
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in Defence, Defence Industry Security, or a comparable security‐focused role
* Demonstrated experience engaging and collaborating with stakeholders in a Defence or Defence industry project environment
