Silverstrand is seeking an experienced Civil Leading Hand to join our team on our Somerset Projects. Experienced in delivering civil, road and drainage projects. Long term projects + full time opportunities for the right candidate. $68.69 P/H + OT + $30 Daily Travel. Projects in Somerset region.
About The Role
Reporting to the Supervisor - You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Work across a variety of different civil and structures projects
* Work closely with the Supervisors to implement construction plans
* Ensure daily work activities are delegated efficiently at pre-start
* Directly lead and oversee small crews in completing DTMR or local council construction projects
* Monitor and report on the progress of projects and make adjustments as necessary
* Utilize, read and interpret project plans, designs and other instructions given by the Superintendent and Project Manager
* Supervise the team to ensure the final product meets specifications in terms of design, quality, safety, and budget
* Plan and schedule work, and allocate resources to meet project objectives
* Provide guidance and training to junior staff and contractors
* Coordinate and participate in safety meetings and inspections
* Hands on Leading Hand - Ability to work in with crews
About You
* Minimum of 3 years in the construction industry as a Leading Hand
* Previous experience in Civil working on Road, Bridge and Earthworks projects
* White card
* Machine Tickets - Excavator, Skid Steer, Roller - Required
* HR Licence
