Position overview
The Agile Project and Change Manager: Technical Learning Transformation will work closely with the Manager Meteorology Course Redesign and Attraction and Manager Engineering Training, program managers, and the Bureau of Meteorology Training Centre (BMTC) learning designers to project and change manage the phased transition of the various technical learning programs delivered by the BMTC.
The transformation will produce training that aligns with global standards and operational requirements. It will be delivered in a contemporary, flexible, and educationally sound manner, including the use of the 'flipped' classroom approach.
The role will ensure all work is tracked and organised using agile project management methodology and the various transformation programs are managed using the Prosci Change Management Framework. Key to this role is the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders and to use project and change practice approaches to drive a structured and sustainable transformation program of work.
Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
* Complying with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.
* Define and communicate the project scope, objectives, timeline, and deliverables within a phased, multi-year plan, ensuring project completion by the end of 2028. This should be done in collaboration with Manager Meteorology Course Redesign and Attraction, Manager Engineering Training, and key stakeholders, aligned with the approved transformation blueprint.
* Design and implement a phased roadmap for transitioning technical learning programs to a flipped classroom model. Ensure alignment with current operational practices by applying Agile principles and ceremonies, including stand‐ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
* Collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including (but not limited to) Subject Matter Experts (national and international), BMTC Leadership Team, Learning Administrators, Online Learning Manager and Trainers.
* Apply the Prosci ADKAR change management methodology to support trainers and learners in adopting the flipped classroom approach.
* Work with IT and BMTC stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of the Learning Management System (Moodle) and assessment platforms.
* Identify potential challenges in adopting the flipped classroom model, develop mitigation strategies, and map change impacts to implement solutions for affected employees.
* Provide other duties for the BMTC as required.
