The Graduate Program
Our dedicated graduate program provides structured support so you can confidently transition into life as a first‑year clinician and extend the skills you worked hard to develop at university.
As a Graduate Occupational Therapist with Empower, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients ranging in age with various needs and goals. The work we do is truly meaningful and our goal is to make a difference in people’s lives and help improve their independence, safety and wellbeing in their own environment. We provide a graded caseload so you have time to develop skills in one area at a time.
Our program includes:
- Fun‑filled induction and orientation programme – structured orientation plan including shadowing senior clinicians to get you started.
- Graduate GROWTH plan – set a clear plan of what you want to get out of the programme.
- Comprehensive six‑week induction programme to ease the transition from student to graduate.
- Structured clinical development programme that supports you to develop skills and expand your scope of practice in areas such as Assistive Technology Prescription, Home Modifications, Aged Care and NDIS.
- Regular 1:1 mentoring.
- Monthly online professional development courses and clinical workshops to put these skills into practice.
- Access to a wide range of online courses through the Learning Management System.
- A $1,500 external professional development fund.

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
- Pending registration with AHPRA
- Police check clearance
- Valid driver’s licence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Robust time‑management skills and attention to detail
- Passion to support people to live their lives the way they want to
