Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and purpose-driven leader to step into the role of Regional Health Strategist, spearheading our efforts to eliminate acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease in Australia. This position provides strategic leadership for our initiatives across the Northern Territory, while also contributing to national policy change on cardiovascular health.
You will have the opportunity to work flexibly, with occasional travel required, and collaborate with First Nations communities, government agencies, health professionals, and other stakeholders to drive advocacy, community-led health initiatives, and public engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead our strategy and operations in the Northern Territory.
* Build and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders across government, health, and community sectors.
* Drive impactful advocacy and contribute to national policy change on cardiovascular health and RHD.
* Represent us in media, public forums, and stakeholder engagements.
* Provide cultural leadership and support community-led responses to heart health, especially within First Nations communities.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications and experience in public health, medicine, policy, advocacy, or community services.
* Demonstrated cultural competence in working with First Nations peoples.
* Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience in developing and delivering advocacy strategies and policy submissions.
* Knowledge of cardiovascular health, and ideally, ARF and RHD.
* A passion for health equity and a commitment to improving outcomes for priority populations.
