Electronics Manufacturing Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Electronics Manufacturing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective manufacturing of electronic assemblies.
Main Responsibilities:
* Liaise between design and manufacturing teams to ensure electronic assemblies are optimized for manufacturability.
* Participate in design reviews focusing on manufacturing feasibility, quality control, tooling requirements, and process optimization.
* Prepare detailed documentation for manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures, inspection criteria, work instructions, and bills of materials.
* Develop advanced in-house SMT PCBA manufacturing and test capabilities to flight standards.
* Lead the commissioning of PCBA machines, including stencil printer, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, PCB washing machine, and x-ray inspection.
* Act as the primary point of contact for electronics/avionics production, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and investigating corrective actions for non-conforming components or processes.
* Lead supply chain development for electronics components, materials, and externally manufactured assemblies.
* Update designs in response to manufacturing issues, parts/materials obsolescence, and system requirement changes.
* Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce issues, decrease manufacturing time, and lower costs.
* Develop training materials for technicians' onboarding and up-skilling.
* Deliver conformance to NASA, IPC, and ECSS standards.
Mandatory Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related fields (or equivalent experience).
* 3+ years of experience working in professional electronics settings.
* Strong understanding of electronics assembly fundamentals, including manual and automated PCB soldering techniques and NDT inspection/test methods.
* Understanding of PCB design and manufacturing standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001 series, ISO 9001).
* Strong understanding of ESD standards (e.g., ANSI/ESD S20.20).
* Background in lean, including SPC, Time & Motion Study, and Six Sigma.
* Understanding of automated SMT PCBA production.
* NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred.
