**The Position**:
**What you will do**:
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL database systems to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues and tune for optimal efficiency
- Implement and maintain database security protocols and access controls
- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through regular backups and disaster recovery planning
- Write and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation
- Tune database configurations and indexes to improve query performance and response times
- Manage reporting databases and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives
- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to transfer data from operational databases to reporting databases
- Create and schedule automated reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or similar tools
- Utilise PowerBI to create insightful and actionable reports for stakeholders
**What you will bring**:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and/or certification in SQL Server administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) is preferred
- Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator or similar role
- Knowledge of SQL Server tools including SSIS and SSRS
- Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries and stored procedures
- Familiarity with performance tuning and optimisation
- Understanding of database security best practices and data protection regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
