The opportunity
As a newly created position within the structure, our Work Health and Safety team are seeking a Wellbeing and Injury Support Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.
With a strong understanding of the workers compensation legislation, you will support our Injury Management/Return to Work (RTW) Program in triaging incidents - both work and non-work related, assisting the Wellbeing and Injury Coordinator in case management of injured workers including the management of records and communications, treatment plans, and reconciliation of workers compensation payments.
Council's business activities are diverse, as are its safety and risk management needs. This provides great opportunity for diversity in the type of challenges and engagements this role will connect with. You will have the opportunity to implement and evolve Council's mature approach to injury management and wellbeing programs in a supported work environment.
Broader to this, your role will assist the wider Enterprise Risk team when required with regard to general administrative duties, and work in collaboration with the WHS Manager on the delivery of our internal Health and Wellness Program, PSCare. This is inclusive of promoting our health and wellbeing programs, fostering WHS education and awareness, undertaking ergonomic assessments, and coordinating our Workers Health Initiative through staff engagements, marketing, memberships and payments to suppliers included.
* This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
* Base Salary Range: $73,236 - $86,085 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $2,464 retention allowance
* You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

* Provide administrative support to the WHS Manager, and broader Enterprise Risk team
* Undertake workplace ergonomic assessments
* Promote and coordinate our health and wellbeing activities and programs across PSC

* A Diploma qualification in relevant field OR extensive and contemporary equivalent qualifications and experience
* Knowledge and experience of the Return to Work Process, rehabilitation and workers compensation process and legislation
* SIRA Return to Work Coordinator Certificate
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Promapp)
