About the role

Industrial Robotics is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join our growing team, working predominantly on-site to deliver advanced manufacturing and robotic system integration projects.

This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys being on the tools, working directly with machinery, automation systems, and customers. You will be involved with projects from planning through to commissioning, while being based out of our central Redland Bay office for project coordination, documentation, and team collaboration.

You will work in close communication with project management, contributing to scheduling, progress reporting, and coordination to ensure successful project delivery. You'll be involved in real industrial deployments, contributing to high-impact automation solutions across manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

* Assist with designing and planning advanced manufacturing systems
* On-site integration, installation, commissioning of robotic and automated systems
* Supporting mechanical, electrical, and control system integration activities
* Fault finding, testing, and optimisation of automation equipment
* Work closely with project management, engineers, technicians, and clients throughout the project lifecycle
* Assist with system documentation, risk assessments, and handover
* Maintain clear communication with project management regarding progress, issues, and site activities
* Complete required clerical and administrative tasks including time sheets, service reports, and project documentation updates
* Develop training material and provide the on-site operator and maintenance training
* Support the continuous improvement of deployed systems

About you

* Degree-qualified in Mechatronics Engineering (or closely related discipline)
* 1 to 5 years' experience in automation, robotics, manufacturing, or industrial systems
* Comfortable working in industrial environments and on customer sites
* Practical, adaptable, and solutions-focused
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* Willingness to travel as required for site work
* Regular travel commitment of 40-60% required for on-site project work
* Must be an Australian citizen / PR or hold current Australian work rights / valid work visa

Experience or exposure to robotics, PLCs, industrial controls, sensors, pneumatics, or machine integration will be highly regarded, but a strong practical attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

Why join Industrial Robotics?

* Work on real-world advanced manufacturing systems
* Predominantly site-based role with tangible outcomes
* Supportive, technically capable team
* Opportunity to rapidly build skills in industrial automation and robotics

Based in Redland Bay, with projects across Australia.
