Job Title: Consultant/Specialist Paediatrician
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our paediatric team as a specialist consultant. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing high-quality care to children and have strong interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist care for children admitted to the general paediatric ward, including after-hours cover
* Conduct regular ward rounds and outpatient clinics, incorporating supervision and teaching of junior staff
* Deliver outreach paediatric services to regional hospitals and remote communities
* Offer specialist advice to non-paediatric colleagues locally and in remote centres
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (or eligibility)
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (or RACP substantially comparable)
* Skills in acute, developmental, and behavioural paediatrics
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-culturally
* Commitment to Indigenous health, child protection, and trauma-informed care
